Hot Rod Drag Week 2017 kicked off yesterday in Cordova, Illinois, at Cordova International Raceway. A record 387 cars went through tech for day 1 of this year’s competition. Racers put down some fast passes and class leaders elapsed times ranged anywhere from the mid 6’s all the way up to the low 10’s in the 16 different classes. As the day went on, some racers ran into issues and parts started to break. After racers were pleased with their elapsed time, it was time to get on the road for the real challenge and drive over 250 miles to Gateway Motorsports Park just outside of St. Louis, Missouri for day 2!
