Lakeville, MN [November 17, 2016] – QA1 is proud to release upper and lower control arms for 1969-1972 Grand Prix, 1970-1972 Monte Carlos and 1975-1979 GM X-body vehicles like Novas, Chevy IIs, Venturas, Apollos and Omegas.
QA1’s GM control arms are offered in both street and race configurations. The street arms use factory replacement ball joints and polyurethane pivot bushings and work great on vehicles used primarily for cruising and long distance events. The race arms utilize low friction QA1 Ball Joints and low friction, low deflection UHMW polyethylene pivot bushings, providing the added performance needed for drag racing, pro-touring and hard core street applications. Both the upper and lower control arms work with stock or dropped spindles and feature tubular construction and a durable black powder coated design.
These control arms are designed to work with QA1’s front Pro Coil Systems. A bolt-in spring adapter is available separately to allow the control arms to be used with stock springs. The upper arms feature an offset cross shaft, letting you quickly and easily adjust camber. The upper and lower arms are designed to add 3 to 4 degrees of caster and 0.5 to 1 degree of negative camber when used together to get the most out of modern performance tires. All lower control arms include mounting hardware for easy bolt-on installation.
QA1’s full-vehicle handling and drag racing suspension kits have also been updated to include these new control arms. All QA1 tubular suspension components, aluminum shocks and steel struts are made in their Lakeville, Minnesota facility.
