The gender reveal of your upcoming newborn baby is a big deal to most during a pregnancy. To find out if you are having a boy or a girl is one of the most exciting moments of your life. Over the years, couples have come up with some of the most unique and creative ways to reveal the gender, and we think this one takes the cake among us gear heads.
Joe and Melissa Masquelier wanted to add a twist to their gender reveal. Instead of the traditional balloon release or smoke-colored burnout, they decided to hold a street race to see which gender would come out victorious. “We couldn’t just let some balloons out of a box,” Says Joe “It’s a race to the finish and the winner claims the gender title.” In the short video filmed by their good friend Shayne Webb, you see Joe and Melissa line up to race down the strip with their family patiently waiting at the finish line to see who crosses the line first. It’s Team Boy vs. Team Girl in a drag race battle to reveal the gender of #BabyMasq. Who will win?
Joe gave us a couple cool facts about the cars in the film. “Both of the cars used in the video we have had since high school. I restored my ’65 Mustang with my dad back in 2002, and Melissa’s father restored her ’69 Camaro (Z28 Tribute) the following year. They have both been around for as long as we have been around, so it was a great Premise for a reveal storyline. We had an absolute blast making the video, and thought it would be fun to share it among other car enthusiasts!”
Congratulations to Joe and Melissa on your baby ____! We don’t want to give away the surprise, watch the video above to see the reveal.
