Drug out of a car port where it rested for 25 years, Shane McClelland turned this 1 owner 1962 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova 400 into an ultimate street cruiser and strip killer. Shane isn’t afraid to prove the Crusty Nova is a true street car. He will take it out for daily errands, drive to the track hundreds of miles away, race all weekend long and drive back home after. No matter if its drag racing, roll racing or running to the store, the Crusty Nova can do it all.
Built by 417 Motorsports, it has a Macon Motorsport assembled 400″ Dart LS with Tial Sport/Forced Performance Super 99 72mm small frame twin turbos under the hood packing well over 1,000hp. The car is getting an Automatic Design 1.58 Powerglide installed today with a Hipster Transbrake, PTC 9.5″ converter and backed by a Gear Venders Overdrive. Shane’s fastest pass in the Crusty Nova is currently a 7.88, which isn’t far from the record of the quickest street-driven LSX car in the world. He hopes to claim that title later this year.
