Mercedes’ V12 SL roadsters have been known for their sleek style and amazing power . Powered by a couple of twin turbos, the SL600 is no joke. Modified with a tune, these luxury sports cars are capable of running 10’s in the 1/4 mile. Add a little nitrous and you have yourself a 9 second Mercedes-Benz.
When Phil N. broke the Mercedes-Benz 1/4 mile record and ran his record 9.97 second pass in his Speedriven tuned SL600, it was the first time a full-weight V12 Mercedes-Benz had posted a 9-second pass to Dragtimes’ board. From that point on he knew he could go faster, he wanted more. Phil sent the SL600 back to Speedriven with one goal: Build the fastest Mercedes-Benz ever.
After Phil notified Speedriven that he wanted to have the fastest Mercedes ever, they immediately started working on a plan to do so. They started working on upgrades to the car’s engine, driveline, suspension, and more. And, since then, Speedriven has been working diligently, developing all-new products like a bespoke coilover suspension, a 9″ rear end conversion, and a first-of-its-kind, fully integrated standalone ECU. As you can see below, they have come up with a pretty crazy setup. Bigger turbos sticking out of the hood, and a drag pack setup to make sure they will be able to put the power to the ground. So far this is all that Speedriven has released, we cant wait to see the finished product and what this SL600 will be capable of.
