Growing up around cars, Alex Taylor has always had the love for racing and cars in her blood. When Alex was young, she would help her father, Dennis, build and work on cars in their shop. Her parents gave her a 1968 Camaro to build as her first car but with a catch, she had to had to help with everything she could to get this classic on the road. One thing led to another and the car turned into a race car/daily driver that she drives to school and races on the track.
When we first met Alex on drag week of 2013 she was the youngest person ever to compete at 16 years of age. At the time the original setup in the Camaro was a Naturally Aspirated LS1, which ran 11.78 on her fastest pass. Fast forward a couple years and we have something a little more serious. Wanting to go faster, Dennis and Alex Swapped in a 6.0L Ls block and added a couple turbos, Twin 66mm Borg Warner Turbos to be exact, a Crower Valve train and Tial Blow-off Valve and wastegate. She managed to run her personal best last year at Rocky Mountain Race week, 8.99 @ 153mph, and boy was she excited.
Be on the lookout this year as Alex is upgrading and turning the car up even more with hopes of going even faster!
