Evan Rubin has one of the baddest street driven Honda S2000’s on the planet. Other than the NSX, the S2000 is one of Honda’s best designs and platforms available. Unfortunately they were only made for 10 years, from 1999-2009. With its sleek look and light weight these cars can become a real rocket ship, especially when you swap one of the best motors ever made, the 2JZ.
Over past 4 years since Evan started building the car, he told me that it has been through a lot of changes up to his current setup. The current setup is the perfect build in my opinion for a S2000. Evan swapped in a built 3.0 2JZ engine with a precision 76/75 Turbo. It has a Nissan 350z transmission and a 8.8 read end. The car is making just over 1000hp to the wheels currently, tuned by Dynosty. As you can see he has quite the wheel and tire setup as well with the Weld Racing Wheels and a meaty tire in the back to keep all of that power from going up in smoke. As seen above in the video by 1320Video, even at his lower tune this car can be a beast on the street. Congrats to Evan and his S2000 for being our Street Car of the Week!
