The GMC Syclone is a high-performance version of the GMC Sonoma pickup truck. Produced in 1991 by GMC, the Syclone was the quickest stock pickup truck in the world. The Syclone came from the factory with a turbocharged 6-cylinder engine, all wheel drive and 4 wheel anti-lock brakes. It was being compared to Corvettes and Porsches on the market at the time.

Ray Lichtenberg, owner of Super Street Performance in Minnesota, has probably one of the baddest street driven Syclones in the world. Under the hood he swapped out the turbocharged V-6 for a 454LSX equipped with a Magnuson Supercharger and Nitrous Express Kit. Recently Ray put it on the dyno and it made 917hp / 1048tq on 17psi off spray running through all 4 wheels. His fastest 1/4 mile time is 9.84 @ 135mph, again off spray. Not only does he drag race the Syclone, he will slap on a more mild tune and take it out road racing. Ray took this 90’s performance truck and turned it into an all purpose racing machine!
