Akira Nakai is an artist and legend in the automotive community. What starts off as a stock Porsche, Nakai turns into a one of a kind “RWB” build for each customer. RWB stands for RAUH-Welt BEGRIFF, which in english it translates to “rough world concept”. RWB has combined Japanese and Euro tuning elements, creating the distinct RWB style for the Porsche chassis. Starting off as a small countryside body-shop and Porsche Tuner in Chiba-Ken, Japan, RAUH-Welt 911’s are now a common sight on both the streets and racing circuits of Japan and across the world.
In the video above, Nakai travles to Philadelphia to create its very first RWB in a unique location. In this documentary, we watch Akira Nakai create yet another one of his masterpieces in just 3 days for a kid named Ben Harmony in his home garage. It’s amazing to just sit there and watch Nakai work, making his vision a reality. Nakai has been building RWB Porsches for over 15 years and you can see that every measurement and calculation is conducted from straight from his mind. As Eugene Ionesco said “A work of art is above all an adventure of the mind.” Check out the finished product, named the “Prince,” tear up the streets of Philadelphia filmed by Krispy Media
