Record-shattering Tropical Storm Harvey has battered the lower portion of Texas, mostly Houston, for almost a week now and has begun to move into southwest Louisiana. Hundreds of thousands of people have been affected and evacuated due to the life-threatening flooding that has taken over the entire city. Rescuers have been traveling through the city by boat and helicopter helping those stranded by the increasing flood waters. Shelters everywhere have been filled with people needing food, toiletries, supplies and a place to stay as their homes are being flooded and destroyed. People from all over the United States have been offering to help and donate as much as they can to assist those in need.
Among the many helping to assist the Hurricane Harvey victims, numerous local racers, shop owners, and businesses in Oklahoma City have stepped up to offer as much help as they can by setting up locations to donate items and funds to the victims of Hurricane Harvey. They have decided to utilize their car trailers to pack them full with as many supplies and items as possible and will be transporting them to areas of Houston over the next few weeks to give to those in need. Drop locations and items needed are listed below. If you aren’t located in the Oklahoma area, drop locations for supplies will most likely be located in most cities, check with local businesses and the authorities to find ways you can help. Even if you can donate just a few dollars or a can of food, every little bit helps. Let’s all put our differences aside, work together, support those in need, and help everyone affected get back on their feet and beat Hurricane Harvey!
“Our friends down in Houston and the surrounding areas are in need of our help! Oklahoman’s always pull together to help our own when we are in the face of tragedy here at home, so let us help our brothers to the south. I have spoken with my fellow race buddies here in Oklahoma City and we have plenty of trucks and trailers ready to make the haul to our friends down south. We have setup three convenient drop locations for good’s ( Water, cleaning supplies, dry clothes, blankets, nonperishables, etc.. ) Myself, Cole Helvey, Jarrod Muck, Shawn Abedi, Cody Garretson and others will be loading trailers once we have reached enough items to do so. Please feel free to share this, as all help is appreciated.” – Jared Holt

“Hurricane Harvey has made a damn mess in the south and the world is doing everything it can to assist in the clean-up and preservation of what it has left behind in its wake. Farmtruck, myself and our entire team are doing our part to raise awareness that our furry friends are also in need of our assistance and to not forget that their lives are also affected. Animal shelters are full and families who were in fear of their own lives had to leave their pets behind in order to save themselves. We urge you to make donations to a shelter, charity or support systems of your choice so that our non-human friends can once again find normalcy in this ever changing disaster. Texas, you are in our thoughts.” – Team FNA
