Shift-S3ctor, Revvolution.com and the Colorado Springs Sports Corp are excited to officially announce the dates for the 2017 Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack to take place Saturday and Sunday, June 17 & 18, 2017 at the Colorado Springs Airport.

Airstrip Attack is a half-mile side-by-side roll race and trap speed competition featuring a selection of the fastest stock and modified street cars from across the world.

“The Colorado Springs Airport is pleased to once again provide the venue for this year’s Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack and cordially invites the Colorado Springs community out to the Airport,” said Greg Phillips, Colorado Springs Airport’s new Aviation Director. “As we build upon the success of the last 3 years, we look forward to continuing to make this truly unique event a lasting tradition for residents and visitors alike.”

One hundred and seventy unique competitors, each with an average of 850 horsepower, converged on Colorado Springs to compete in the sold-out Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack in front of 40 media outlets, 30 world-class sponsors and more than 6,000 die-hard spectators. New world records were set, broken and reset as the fastest street cars in the world competed for the title of King of Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack. In 2017, Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack will be even more

In 2017, Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack will be even more record shattering as we introduce anew event layout, expand our Live Stream for faraway enthusiasts, and bring out thebiggest names in the industry to compete in the largest venue and stop for the 2017 Airstrip Attack season.”With a completely new, much larger spectator layout, a more refined competition structure and new world records looking to be set, this year

“With a completely new, much larger spectator layout, a more refined competition structure and new world records looking to be set, this year is gearing up to be the biggest, most impressive event yet.” explains Ryan Randels, co-founder of Revvolution Shift-S3ctor.

In 2016, Gidi Chamdi piloted his Underground Racing-modified 2013 Lamborghini Gallardo SL to a new overall half-mile trap speed world record at 240.641 mph, breaking the 240 barrier for the first time in history. At an Airstrip Attack event later that year, Chamdi and his teammate Richard Fowler went toe-to-toe, with Fowler earning the win and setting a new world record at 247.252 mph.

“This year we look to break the 250 mph speed barrier,” explains Gidi Chamdi. “We have made a few changes to the car to hopefully help us hit that target. [Colorado Springs Airport] is the place to do it with the great traction and long breaking distance.”

“Last year, it was finally proven that world records can be broken at altitude. With the best race surface we have all year and the altitude of Colorado Springs, we expect the record to fall again in 2017,” explains Jason Huang, co-founder of Revvolution Shift-S3ctor. “Nowhere else in the world do you get this many of the fastest half-mile cars showing up to the same event to compete head-to-head against each other. When you combine that with the amount of spectators that show up, what you end up with is a race event with the atmosphere of a rock concert. We can’t wait for this year.”

This is an event not to be missed.
